Lot with 7 items: Africa, Katanga, AD1100 and later: Large St. Andrew’s cross shape of cast copper, 1020g., 170x220 mm. / Zimbabwe, 13-17th cent. Two small H-shaped copper crosses (10.28, 11.79 g) The H-shape cross was in use prior tot he Katanga Cross (Opitz p.124-125) / Congo, Ridged Crescent (440 g. 80x130mm). Roughly cast copper open crescents, three prominent recessed ridges, attributed to Konda, Kundu, Ntomba and Bobangi tribes (Opitz p.278) / Nigeria, Tajere, iron bar (220g.; long 320 mm) with rough diamond-shaped swelling at center & long squared ends made by the Fulani subjects Batta and Mumuye, this was a tradable ingot form for recycling worn out iron tools (Opitz p.332) / Nigeria, heavy attractively decorated copper anklet (1.100g.) c. 100 mm wide and 52 high; Sierra Leone, Liberia, and French Guinea, Kissypenny, ca. 1900-1920’s worth 2 cents (Opitz p.179)

Afrika (West Afrika, Benin/Nigeria), large bracelet/anklet with transverse bulges and decorated side - brass 10,5 à 11,7 x 78 mm 1240 gram

Malaysia, Kedah, tin ring (4) with stone mould. Provenace district Batubara (Lima Puluh) of Sumatra. These rings were original a part of tin cockerels on rings (SS 20b). For small purches rings were broken of, but the present rings were purposely cast for small change. The stone mould therefore may have been used for counterfeiting such rings

Indonesia, bronze decorated caping (48.70 g.) originating from Sumatra. Capings are heart-shaped modesty plates that were worn by infant girls and sometimes boys among the Malays, Bugis and other indigenous Southeast Asian groups as a substitute for clothing. They were worn suspended by chains from the waist. They tended to be made from different materials according to the ranks of the wearers. Gold was reserved for the nobility, silver for dignitaries, and plates made of brass, copper or coconut shell for commoners. Babies tended to wear capings once they could stand, something that was often accompanied by a simple ceremony. Interesting original ethnological item, VF
