Further Bonifacius engaged in civil wars on the behalf of Galla Placidia. He stood up against the generals Flavius Felix (in 427-429) and Flavius Aëtius (in 432). Although he won the battle of Rimini aganst Aëtius, Bonifacius died due to a severe and fatal wound in AD 431.
