Horseman Type, AV dinara, 7.81 g, 18 mm, specific gravity 16.3. Obv.: King riding to right. He wears tunic over smooth breeches, necklace, curvy sash, and cap with topknot. Riding crop in right hand. A crescent near the edge on XI o’clock. Truncated circular legend paramabhāgavata-mahārājādhirāja-śrīcandraguptaḥ in Brāhmī script from I o’clock. It means ‘The prime devotee of bhagavat (=Viṣṇu), the Overlord over kings, the noble Candragupta’ / Rev.: Nimbate Śrī seated to left on wicker stool, wearing long hip cloth and cap with topknot. She holds diadem fillet and large lotus on short stalk. No tamga; in the right field ajitavikramaḥ, ‘One of Unconquered Prowess’. Several closely similar designs are known, but this one not listed by Kumar 2017/2024 for Var.
