Kārttikeya Type, AV dinara, 8.21 g, 18.0 mm, specific gravity 14.72. Obv.: Elegant, bare-chested king feeding fruits from a twig to a peacock. He stands slightly stooped, with hip swayed to his left. He wears loin cloth, prominent sash, and necklace; hairdo of curving layers of curls. Circular legend from I o’clock as in previous coin, but in tinier letters / Rev.: Kārttikeya seated facing front on a peacock to front balancing on rocks (so not on a man-made platform, as is usually said). The deity scatters treasures with flat open hand (so not abhayamudrā) and holds a spear. Hair in thick locks with crescent ornament. Against the right margin mahendrakumāraḥ; (Raven 2015: 67-68, cp. fig. 9, there with dagger; Kumar 2017/2024: Class II.A; Raven frthcmg: KG1/Group 5, Var. 1.1, Fr.95) - a.XF, Done in an attractive style, and with the iconography well captured on the coin.
