Wehrmacht/Heer, Large grouping from the estate of highly decorated German General "Heinrich Nickel" (1894-1979) commander of the German 342nd Infantry Regiment, and wearer of the Knights cross with oakleaves, the lot consists of personal artifacts spanning his military career from WWI through WWII like his own footlocker, filled with a very large amount of staff maps as used by him during the war, some with writen troop movements on them, also included some souvenirs presented to him, like ashtrays and desk ornaments from various places where the division fought, his erkennungsmarke (dogtags), also included a binder with a very extensive photo collection of 135 pieces and 8 negatives, including very nice portrait pictures of him with full awards, one photo of a meeting with Adolf Hitler, various photos of award ceremonies, including various other Knights cross holders, this grouping is a must see, to understand the extent of material included
