Lot of approximately 587 schellingen from Dutch provinces and cities, all but a few minted at a lower standard in the 1680s and 1690s. These schellingen were reduced in value to 5½ stuiver in 1693 and circulated until the mid-nineteenth century with the name ‘zesthalf'. The coins must have been found at some point as a coin hoard, but all information about this is lacking. A short publication is in preparation. Represented are Gelderland (23), Nijmegen (143), Zutphen (81), Westfriesland (3), Utrecht (7), Overijssel (38), Deventer (151), Kampen (70), Zwolle (30), Groningen (16). ), City of Groningen (24) and unidentified (1).
