AR dirham AH299 (4.19 g.), East European imitation, Volga-Bulghar, Madinat al-Salam (Bagdad) (A-Q1481; Rispling K101; Wilkes 1549; ZENO 328862) - Contemporary imitation or emergency issue from poorly engraved dies. The form of the "y" at the end of "al-muktafi" is completely different from the "y" on any of the normal al-Muktafi dirhams of Madinat al-Salam. Also, the isolated letter below the reverse field is not found on any of normal dirhams. The calligraphic style is clunky and different from normal - very rare, slightly dented but otherwise about VF
