A lacquer cabinet commissioned by the Portuguese of square form and fall front door. The front, top and sides lacquered in black (urushi), decorated with gold lacquer (maki-e) and inlaid with mother of pearl (raden). The exterior of the door is decorated with two rabbits playing beneath trees, the sides and reverse each with panels decorated with different floral designs, the top with a bridge over a stream. The interior revealing nine drawers, the central drawer with pillars. The top with brass handle and fittings to the corners, Japan, Momoyama period, late 16th century -24 x 25,5 x 24,5 cm, expected wear and some losses-_x000D_
