Not many people want to become an appraiser at a young age, Joyce Drijver is an exception. She inherited the love of visiting auctions from her family. During her art history studies (Leiden University) she already worked for auction house Christie's in Amsterdam.
After graduating, she joined the Venduehuis der Notarissen in The Hague, where she started as an appraiser of drawings and paintings. She then developed into a true specialist in jewelery and silver. She obtained diplomas as a diamond grader and gemologist. In addition, she successfully completes a jewelry appraiser training from the Federation TMV for certified appraisers, brokers and auctioneers.
On behalf of Heritage Auctions Europe, Joyce has been valuing jewelry, gold and silver since 2019. She really enjoys finding, literally, the 'hidden gems', such as necklaces that people don't know are of rare class. Or ancient rings in pristine condition that were found with a metal detector.

“What I really enjoy about working for Heritage Auctions is the large number of people who bring in beautiful items. There is always something special or valuable in there.”
