AE Bronze Contorniate, in the name of Nero (Rome between 340 and 420 AD, 39 mm., 25.8 gm.) - NERO CLADIVS CAESAR AVG GER PM TRP IMP PP Laureate head right, palm in front / Horseman wearing chlamys with the face of a late 4th century ruler, spearing fallen Barbarian, naked, at right (the palm branch is not a plant, but the symbol of Victory on these pieces) - VF, rev. some roughness , dark patina, extremely rare (From the Thomas Ollive Mabbott Collection, ex auction sale Hans Schulman Gallery, lot nr. 4877, October 1969)
