M1871/88 Beaumont-Vitali rifle, interesting variant of the standard rifle, by adding a 4 shot cartridge magazine designed by "Giuseppe Vitali", to increase the rate of fire of line infantry, the rifle is marked "P.Stevens, Maastricht", dated 1876, and has serial nr: 943 (Bolt and Breech matching), a cartouche on the stock which reads "W, Maastricht 1877", rifle is complete and functional, has a patina that shows age, nice example
