WWII/Postwar, Very rare experimental US camouflage helmet cover for use with the M1 helmet, used on trials in 1941/1942 by the US Army, but did not make it past test fase, after WWII, the test run of uniforms where purchased by the Dutch military for use with their Paratroopers of the SOP/KST, in the former Dutch East-indies, this one is named on the back with "Bakx", the cover belonged to former para J.P. (Piet) Bakx, from Bergen op Zoom, mentioned on page 181, of the "Topi Merah" book, at the time of listing it is the only known example that exist to this day, truly a one of a kind piece, so perfect for both US uniform collectors and Dutch East-Indies collectors.
