Meindert van Dam, 'Almanach', Amsterdam, 1785. An interesting almanac with the 12 months with important dates of the time, such as year markets, horse markets, holidays, shipping times and post carriage times. The empty pages reserved for making notes in each perticular month, have been used for writing in cooking recipes. As there are various handwritings throughout, it may well have been compiled by various family members or friends. Bound in a full leather gilt tooled binding with the VOC monogram for Amsterdam and 1785. A lovely and curious work -Front cover coming loose-
