A Kaneie style Tsuba, Japan, Edo period. Iron tsuba of kaku-maru shape, decorated with a cormorant fisher near the coast in raised relief and mixed metal encrustations. Hitsu-ana of different size and a signature possibly reading ‘Yamashiro……Kaneie’ (…..Kaneie from Yamashiro). Height: 6.7 cm, Thickness: 4.2 mm
