Pieter Idserts Portier (1698-1781), 50 drawings, watercolours and washes in grey of various Frisian views, towns, landscapes and other subjects, some with verso sketches, some titled, annotated and signed (with the initials), all executed between 1747 and 1771 -all circa 16 x 21 cm- (51) (all unframed)(various conditions) The artist was the gatekeeper of the city of Franeker in Friesland and also tile painter. In 1744 he was appointed as landscape draftsman of the Franeker Academy. He drew views of villages, waterlandscapes and maps of the provinces of Friesland and Holland.
