A large southern Mexico, Guerrero figure in grey stone, Mezcala culture. A standing anthropomorphic axe god figure that is hand-carved with faint beige inclusions. The figure stands on two legs and displays string-cut grooves that delineate the arms, waistline, neck, and mouth. The ovoid head bears horizontal, string-cut grooves for the eyes and mouth, H 28 cm on included custom stand. From the Schindler collection Munich.
