Short cross pattée with double legend, inner ring legend ✠ LVDOVICVS : INP’, outer ring legend ✠ BNDICTV ⠇SIT ⠇NOME ⠇DNI ⠇NRI ⠇DEI ⠇IHVI - VF - extremely rare. The obverse of this coin is rather standard. The legend of the inner ring on the reverse ends with INP’, this spelling occurs on the Tourse Groot of Blankenberg (De Mey 645-46) and Heinsberg (De Mey 647-648). However the name of the mint is shown there instead of TVRONIS CIVIS. For Blankenberg a.o. MO‘ BLANKENB’ and for Heinsberg a.o. MO‘ HEINSBR‘. On the legend of the outer ring on the reverse there are little stripes above N and V of BNDICTV, NE of NOME and VI of IHVI. No mint can be identified by this. The ending of the outer ring legend IHVI is not found elsewhere. So, how can we attribute this coin? As a hybrid for Blankenburg or Heinsberg? Or as a mistake in title for Lodewijk IV van Beieren (1328-1347 : INP instead of IMP) or Lodewijk IX of France (1245-1270 : INP instead of REX). Or as a coin that is not attributed to a mint to date….. Niet toegeschreven De voorzijde van deze munt is vrij standaard. De legenda van de binnenring op de keerzijde eindigt met INP’, deze spelling komt voor op de Tourse Groot van Blankenberg (De Mey 645-646) en Heinsberg (De Mey 647-648). De naam van de muntplaats wordt daar echter weergegeven in plaats van TVRONIS CIVIS. Voor Blankenberg o.a. als MO‘ BLANKENB’ en voor Heinsberg o.a. als MO‘HEINSBR‘. Op de legenda van de buitenste ring op de achterkant staan streepjes boven N en V van BNDICTV, NO van NOME en VI van IHVI. Hieruit is geen muntplaats te herleiden. Het einde van de buitenste ring legenda IHVI is nergens anders te vinden. Dus, hoe kunnen we deze munt toeschrijven? Als hybride voor Blankenburg of Heinsberg? Of als titelfout voor Lodewijk IV van Beieren (1328-1347: INP in plaats van IMP) of Lodewijk IX van Frankrijk (1245-1270: INP in plaats van REX). Of als munt die tot op heden niet aan een muntplaats kan worden toegeschreven…
