Lot 8429

Lot 8429
Western Zhou, 1122-222 B.C, Pseudo-money,"Wawa (Cicada) money". Spring & Autumn period. Generically, these are wearable ornaments with a loop for hanging. They could be simply ornaments, but a number of interested parties like to think that bronze of any shape could/would have been used as money back then. They are convenient size and shape for coins, especially given that they were using big, fragile spades at the time. Well preserved lot of 5 specimen of different size and shape
Starting price: € 50.00
