50 Cents 1899 (KM13, Pr.25, SS27) with Chinese inscription in small punches applied to the reverse written in simplified Chinese, it reads 'Guanyin Fozu Helu Liesheng', something like «Guanyin Buddha (i.e. Bodhisattva of Compassion or Goddess of Mercy (Sanskrit: Avalokiteśvara) ‘engages in a burner’ (or ‘Harmonizes in an (insense) burner’) to be (to become) a Holy Saint - VF, perhaps relates to a sort of Buddhist ceremony (ZENO 337821)
