Teluk Samawi (present: Lhokseumawe), tin-lead pitis (2.51 g.) Obv: Jauhar Al-Alam Shah / rev:Teluk Samawi and date AH 1227 (AD1812), Teluk Samawi was an important port on the northern coast of Sumatra from the 13th -16th cent. At the beginning of the 19th century, during the Sultan of Aceh, Jauhar al-Alam Shah, Teluk Samawi became for a while the capital of his government before he returned to his palace in Banda Aceh. This coin must have been produced during the period Samawi was the capital of the Aceh Sultanate. Very Rare XF for issue (Ref.: Millies 150; ZENO 341211)
