Horseman Type, AV dinara, 8.25 g, 19.5 mm, specific gravity 15.9. Obv.: King, with closely cropped curls and sharp facial features, riding on horseback to right, holding tall bow in left hand. He wears tunic, with plaques, over long breeches, and necklace. The horse wears a string of plaques on the neck. The verse legend, in tight script, starts from VIII o’clock and is here well preserved, pṛthivītaleśvarendraḥ kumāragupto jayatyajitaḥ, ‘The invincible Kumāragupta, Indra among kings on the surface of the earth, is victorious’ / Rev.: Nimbate Śrī sits to left on low wicker stool. She wears pleated hip cloth secured by girdle of plaques, hair in knot at the back and floral ornament above forehead. She feeds fruits to peacock and holds botanized cornucopia.
