Sceptre Type, AV dinara, 7.81 g, 19 mm, specific gravity 15.34. Obv.: Tall, nimbate king holding staff-sceptre while sacrificing on altar; he wears cap, tailed tunic and dhotī carrying ornamental plaques. Garuḍa banner in left field. Name samudra beneath left arm and gupta near the verse legend, which is as on previous coin but here from VII o’clock, which is normal for this variety; only second half clearly legible. Rev.: Nimbate Śrī with long fillet; a small loop juts out above her fist; on left arm a cornucopia. She sits on throne with backrest, with feet on lotus; legend parākrama, ‘bold advance’ (Raven 1994a:236 (Var. D.1.2); Raven 2010: group SG.10; Kumar 2017/2024: Var. II.E.4/Var. II.E.4.3; Raven frthcmg: SG/Group 6, Variety 4.1, Fr.70) - Bold, early style, not rare. The heaviest coin documented for this variety so far, as the expected average weight is 7,43 g, but with considerable fluctuations among the coins, bold good VF
