AV Java rupee 1796, mm.: rooster on top (Scho.442; Passon 20.1; Fr.11; ZENO 318211) - 15.47 g. - Obv. Malay-Arabic legend: “Ila djarat / djawa al-kabir” above double line, date1796 in exergue, within floral scroll-work and arrow-point below / Rev. Malay-Arabic legend: “dirham min kompani welandawi” in-between scroll-work of rope knot on top and bottom. Oblique milling. The reverse shows a slight cross shape ghosting effect caused by having been fit in a coin bezel or brooch which, however, hasn’t affected the flan nor the legend - mintage 1435 ex. - Exceptional rare – RRRR - XF/UNC
