1 Gulden 1928 - Design for a new guilder based on ideas by J.C. Wienecke and H. Luns (Sch. - cp. 829bis) - Obv. Portrait Wilhelmina to the left with diadem signed J.C. Wienecke / Rev. Crowned pointed coat of arms between 19 - 28 and at the bottom 1. - G / smooth edge, die positions 6 hr - silver-plated 28 mm 10,04 grams - good VF - rare - NB Plans were made around 1928 to introduce a new design of the large Dutch coins (see A. Pol in JMP 65/66 (1978/1979) 91-105). A number of designs were later executed by the Firma Begeer. This type with the obverse by J.C. Wienecke is not represented in the relevant literature. NB The grainy structure around the date and value may indicate the use of an old die.
