# 3158
Unknown city probably in Friesland, unknown guild, 1786 (cp. Dirks p.331 XI = WK Onbekende Plaatsen 29.9; see also WK OP 1.5) - engraved medal with punched letters and numbers - Obv. Two concentric rings with recessed edges, outside, between concentric lines IOOST R(E)DMERS GILDE PENN(YG) 1786 and NOMRO 16 (the D in the name retrograde; after the number 16 are possibly traces of an older number) / Rev. Concentrical lines - brass 35 mm 14,92 gram - F/VF, corrosion and two defects - unpublished medal, found in Heerenveen 1997 (Numis 1013932) - NB The surface appears copper, but yellow metal is visible in the defects of the flan. There are clear similarities with WK 29.9: the fabric, the design with the circles, the omission of the names of city and guild, and the spelling of the words pennyg and numero/nomro. The Redmers family name appears regularly in the cities of Joure and Sneek at this time.
