AR large fanam of 6 stivers (1.10 g.), (Scho. 1234, 1250-1; Passon 44.8, 47.2-3) Obv.: A human figure resembling Kali. On the breast a Shanka shell with cluster of 4 dots to right / rev.: a lazy J, with O C (Oostindische Companie) above and 3 rows of 4 dots + 1 below. The large fanam of 6 stivers, struck at Negapatnam, was intended for export to Ceylon, Cochin and the Pearl Fishery (Tuticorin); added a similar single fanam (2) of the same type, struck only for Cochin and a so-called ‘Sankhalata’ puttan struck at Cochin.
