3 coins Maratha Confederation, AR Rupee AH1170/Ry.3 (1756/57) & 117x/Ry.6 (1759) Gwalior - During the period from 1755-1763 Gwalior was occupied by the Maratha Confederation. The Peshwa assigned Gwalior as a personal jagir to Vitthal Shivadeo Vinchurkar. Due to the defeat of the Marathas at Panipat, the Jat Rana of Gohad was able to re-occupy Gwalior for a short time again, till it was finally taken by Mahadji Sindhia in 1765 (Indian Coin Society Newsletter #20 (1993); KM.460.28 (Mughals))
