AE X kas (16.92 g.), ND (after 1646). (Scho. 1217; Passon 41.5) Obv.: VOC-monogram surmounted by X / rev.: Arabic legend: benam sultan abd (allah) “In the name of Sultan Abd (Allah)”, refering to Sultan 'Abd Allah Qutb Shah (AD1626-1672) from whom the Dutch received the privilege of a Mint at Pulicat. The 10 kas was struck for Ceylon, were it circulated for a stiver. By placard of 1674 they were forbidden there to circulate. RRR gVF
