AR ½ rupee (5.61 g.) struck posthumously in the name of Alamgir II, 1754-1759, at Jagannathpur (Jaggernaikpuram), Ry.28 (1790/91). The coins of Jaggernaikpuram are very rare and the half rupee is of the highest rarity. For more on the Dutch minting activities at Jaggernaikpuram, refer to ONS-161 supplement, which has also been published in ND-23/24. Jagannathpuram was located close to Machhlipatan and the coins produced here by the VOC follow the designs of the Machhlipatan rupees very closely. R4 aXF. Ref.: Scho. - ; Passon 49.2
