Satraps of Caria / Hekatomnos (ca 391-376 BC) - AR Hemiobol (0.35 g) - Bearded head of Hekatomnos right / Head of bull left, E behind (SNG Cop. --, unpublished in the standard references / cf. CNG 78, lot 824) - good VF, attractive for type and extremely rare. Caria - in the fourth century BC - was under the rule of a family of semi-independent satraps, named Hekatomnids after the dynasty's founder Hekatomnos.
