(At the plaque on Henricus Zwaardecroon:) Book 'Historie van het leven des Heeren Huig de Groot' by Caspar Brandt and Adriaan van Cattenburgh, Dordrecht and Amsterdam 1727 with dedication 'Aen zyne Hoog Edelheit den Heere Hendrik Zwaerdekroon ...' - half folio, half leather, used - NB Henricus Zwaardecroon's grandfather (of the same name) paid for the transport of Hugo de Groot's remains to his grave in 1645; moreover, the author's grandfather was married to one Sara Zwaardecroon.
