AR Coronation Medal (Ser-thri Nga-sol Medal) instituted by Chogyal Chempo Palden Thondup Namgyal to commemorate his Coronation on 4th April 1965 - Obv: State coat of arms of the Sikkim state in the centre, legend around "PALDEN THONDUP NAMGYAL" and date below 4 ARIL 1965 / Rev: mountains surrounded by legend in Tibetan script, along with original suspension ring and ribbon to wear - 27.12 g.; 32.75 mm - good VF, very rare, note: Palden Thondup Namgyal was the 12th and last Chogyal (King) of Sikkim. In 1975 Sikkim joined the union of India through a referendum receiving a 97% majority election vote, thus ending his rule.
