1762 - Anonymous commemorative medal on a golden wedding by M. Holtzhey (Van der Meer JMP 1971/2 type IX, Bemolt type M9), apparently struck for the golden wedding of Cornelis van der Aa and Barbara Halsbergen - Obv. Woman sacrificing at altar, in the smoke a ouroboros with 'L', on the ground a stork; in exergue ''t Goude Feest gev.' and (punched) '1762' / Rev. Eight-lines verse, in exergue 'Getrout' and (punched) '1712' - gold 37 mm 27,29 gram - XF - rare - Added, from the same source, an original medal description by Holtzhey for this medal type on whitch are written the names Cornelis van der Aa and Barbara Halsbergen and the remark 'Deze beschrijving behoord bij de kleine medaille die voor de kleinkinderen, in eigendom van d Heer J. van der Aa Criellaert'. NB Bemolt mentions an engraved silver medal on this same gold wedding (Bemolt 1186, PR 1404 'Groot 28'), that may have been intended for the spouses themselves.
